Log cabin for small individuals
Again, Wilderness Woods, down in East Sussex, has been a source of beautiful display of a functionning community. A week worth of work with furiously motivated volunteers. I've been paid with silliness and politically incorrect humour, and it was worth it.

Splitting, hewing, cutting, scribing... but mostly funning.

Don't get me wrong, they are only called volunteers. So was I. And they've never done log building before. Me included. But we're all professionals now.

Good mallets were the key tools... We even had a third-of-a-mallet.

Bit of a berk, that one.

Sawing competition.

That's it, all the suspense building up. But we left without finishing it...
In the end, I now have a better idea of thos logs buildings. The quantity of wood involved in a cabin like that is probaly giving nightmares to most of the trees around.
Do trees sleep ? Nevermind.
And scribing round wood... Another possible reason why, in the last thousand years, we've decided to square off timber before using it in construction.
